At the London Library with Frances Wilson discussing her book, Electric Spark: The Enigma of Muriel Spark, with Chris Power

It was such a treat to attend the London Library’s event on 8th October, which was an interview with the author Frances Wilson, talking about her brilliant new book ELECTRIC SPARK: THE ENIGMA OF MURIEL SPARK (Bloomsbury, £25). Frances truly brought the multiplicity of Muriel Spark’s genius to life, so much so that I was inspired to purchase the book on the night. I’ve read it, and I loved it. I first read her novel THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE as a teenager, and I have since revisited it with an adult’s viewpoint. But from Frances Wilson’s new book I’ve learned so much more about Muriel Spark, the woman and the author,, in particular about her writing craft and her rise to literary fame.
