Talk: The London Library with Frances Wilson & Chris Power

It was such a treat to attend the London Library’s 8th October event: an interview with critic, journalist and non-fiction author, Frances Wilson, hosted by author Chris Power, talking about Frances’s brilliant new book ELECTRIC SPARK: THE ENIGMA OF MURIEL SPARK (Bloomsbury, £25). Frances truly brought to life the multiplicity of Muriel Spark’s genius, so much so that I was inspired to purchase the book at the event. I have read it, and loved it! I first read Muriel Spark’s classic novel THE PRIME OF MISS JEAN BRODIE as a teenager, and I have since returned to it, reading from an adult’s perspective. From Wilson’s new book, I have learned so much more about Muriel Spark, the author and the woman, in particular gaining insights into her writing craft, and her slow, steady rise to literary fame.
